Lenten reflections: 20/20 Vision
Churches Together in Putney and Roehampton (CTPR) have worked hard this year to put together a series of Lenten reflections entitled ‘20/20 Vision: Seeing society and the world more clearly in a new decade’. The four evenings in March will look at a different topical issue with an invited speaker, and encourage attendees to reflect upon what out Christian ethics have to say about each topic.
The four sessions will all be held at Putney Methodist Church, beginning at 7:30 pm with a simple soup and bread supper. The talk will begin at 8:00 pm and be followed by time for questions and discussion.
The topics and speakers are:
- 5 March – “Engaging with gender, sexuality and faith with young people”, the Rev’d Sally Hitchener (St Martin-in-the-Fields, founder of Diverse Church)
- 12 March – “The importance of an independent judiciary”, His Honour Judge Jeremy Donne RD QC
- 19 March – “Putting the urgency back into the climate emergency”, David Murray (CAFOD)
- 26 March – “Law and ethics in the use of force by states”, a former military lawyer
The sessions promise to be very interesting, and anyone is welcome to attend any or all of them.
